About
Teacher. Reader. Reluctant gardener-adjacent.
The story, roughly
I have a master’s degree in informatics. I once had a high-school qualification as a romteknolog — not exactly the glamorous astronaut kind, but the kind that involves a lot of data, a reasonable amount of patience, and the occasional satellite. In the end I didn’t chase that path. Instead I chose love, went with my now-wife to university, and studied informatics.
Before settling into teaching I worked as a developer in a couple of companies and then spent two years as a game- and blockchain researcher in a small crypto/gaming startup. There I wrote around thirty research papers on tokenomics, blockchains and game economies.
While doing that remote job I also completed my pedagogy education and became a father for the first time. It was a hectic couple of years, but somehow it all worked out.
Since 2023 I’ve been teaching full-time at junior high on Lovund — math, science and English. It feels just right.
Outside of work I read quite a bit, follow space news, and whatever small project has caught my attention lately. We have a garden at home. My wife has the vision and the plans — I get dragged into the building part, and if I’m being honest I usually quite enjoy it too (though I won’t always admit that).
I also enjoy living on Lovund with my family and tinkering and building software stuff — with AI making it all a lot more achievable.
I use AI tools every day. At work for planning and feedback, at home for the small tinkering projects that would previously have required either more time or more skill than I had. I find the whole thing genuinely interesting in a low-key way — not as a hobby horse, more as a practical reality that is changing what a person with reasonable curiosity can actually get done.
I’m also open to occasional side projects — especially simple web pages for companies or other interesting ideas. If you have something in mind, feel free to reach out.
